Spotlight on Innovation in Taiwan

Neighbouring the People’s Republic of China, Japan, and the Philippines, Taiwan is often overlooked on the global stage. However, as the 19th biggest economy on the world, this island nation is eager to raise its international profile.

The biggest barriers for Taiwan’s worldwide commerce prospects are twofold.

The first issue is the accessibility of the Taiwanese markets for foreign businesses. There is a ripe market for FDI, but many Western businesses are wary of entering what is seen as predominantly Chinese speaking market, even though the opportunities are abundant for those with the resources to make the leap.
