Opened in March 2011, Cinnamon Culture has not only become a spot for local gastronomical connoisseurs, but is also a success story of an Asian business turning a run-down neighbourhood pub into a thriving restaurant.
That looks like a mini castle from the outside, Cinnamon Culture is an island of tranquillity on a busy street in Bromley. Everything, from a carefully groomed outdoor patio and leafy prints on the wallpaper and window glazing design to pastel colours and modern furniture, shows attention to detail. The understated chic is a testament to the restaurant’s main focus – the quality and taste of food rather than interior design.
The co-owners, Manpreet Dhingra and Jiwan Lal, have taken on a challenging task of breaking stereotypes of Indian restaurants and catering to the European audience, who are gastronomically adventurous and seek top-quality food. “Our clients are connoisseurs and we wanted to present Indian food to them in a modern way”, explains Dhingra. Among many starters to choose from are crispy poppadoms with homemade chutneys, vegetarian potato scallops, chargrilled black tiger prawns and jumbo quail breast.

And for those of us with a sweet tooth, Cinnamon Culture offers a wide range of desserts, including Cumin-infused chocolate fondant and honey and ginger kulfi, Indian ice cream made on-site.[/quote]
As Chef Lal adapts traditional Indian dishes for his British clientele both in terms of taste and presentation, he turns them into masterpieces for visual and gastronomical delight. Cinnamon Culture is one of those top restaurants that offers gourmet food in a client-oriented yet relaxing atmosphere – an experience definitely worth a short train from central London!
