Art Taipei, formerly Taipei Art Fair International, is the oldest art fair in Asia. It was founded by the Taiwan Art Gallery Association in 1992. This year, the event is to take place from 8 to 11 November 2013 in the Taipei World Trade Center.
Art Taipei is intended as a major trade platform of contemporary art in Asia. The fair makes the most of not only its geographical location and the multiculturalism of the city, but also of a large number of collectors, who have been active since the 1980s.
The objective of the fair is to establish a connection between contemporary Chinese art and the visual arts industry from the South-west and North-west, thanks to more than 150 exhibitors coming mainly from the Asian Pacific regions. The 2013 edition will reunite renowned international artists as well as young, up-and-coming talents.
