Everest 1953

As reported by AGI, this May sees the 60th anniversary of Sir Edmund Hilary’s and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay reaching the summit of Mount Everest. If you are interested in learning more, Everest 1953 is an extraordinary commemorative exhibition of rare photographic images from the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG’s) Everest collection. It celebrates the 60th Anniversary Sir Edmund Hilary and Tenzing Norgay reaching the summit of Everest on 29 May 1953.

The exhibit will also mark the launch of Everest published by Ammonite Press. The publication contains over 400 unique photographs handpicked by the RGS and IBG. For more information on the up coming book visit the Ammonite Press website.
