This is decades-long conflict over Gaza, described by some as the ‘world’s biggest prison’, has recently left thousands dead and wounded. Recent air strikes on Gaza have once again created a state of panic within the United Nations which has failed miserably, time and again, to initiate peace talks and bring about a resolution for both parties.
However, following the November 2012 air strikes, the Palestinians and Israeli conflict is now reshaping the political alliances in the Middle East. The conflict, this time, has also suggested the validation of accusations against Iran for smuggling weapons to Hamas. This shift will impact on future negotiations and peace talks with the parties involved, and this also means possible changes in friendships and political alliances.
The seven-day air strikes which were brought to an end, when Mrs. Clinton interfered with the help of Egyptian Prime Minister, have led to an uneasy pause, but has failed to ensure further problems in the future. The Israel Prime Minister says that his army ‘still has its hands on the trigger’. Peace but, perhaps, only a temporary
one. Let’s hope not.
