Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic will be helping to bring smiles to children’s faces the world over by helping sell more clothes.
ovak Djokovic will soon be bringing smiles to a whole new generation as he steps away from the tennis court and dons the UNIQLO colours to support a new project to better the lives of children around the world. After having being chosen to be the brand ambassador for UNIQLO in May this past year, Djokovic has been extensively involved in the company’s “Clothes for Smiles”program. With a view to improve the lives of children around the world, the corporate social responsibility driven program aims to raise ten million dollars through the sale of clothes from two of its lines (HEATTECH and Ultra Light Down) in the Fall/Winter 2012 collection.
Two separate programs form the basis for “Clothes for Smiles”, each of which has been allotted a budget of five million. The first program aims at generating ideas from around the world as to how it is possible to better the lives of children everywhere. The second program is a joint venture with UNICEF to support education-related projects for children. Djokovic has been associated with UNICEF from 2007, when he set up the Djokovic foundation in order to help Serbian youth and fund their education needs.
In a video to spread awareness about the campaign, Djokovic says that he was always taught to dream big and encourages people to join and help the “Clothes for Smiles” project move forward.
