More luxury brands are finding their footing in this prosperous Central Asian country as an economic and cultural boom envelops Kazakhstan.
he fashion savvy in Kazakhstan have a new status symbol to flaunt as the newest Louis Vuitton store comes to town in the fashion capital of Almaty. Paying homage to the country, the 750-square-meter store’s entrance displays Kazakh artiste Almagul Menlibayeva’s “The Global Entry 1” and has a VIP area that resembles a yurt; a traditional nomadic dwelling structure of bent wood.
The store has pride of place at the entrance of the Esentai Mall Center, a luxury establishment that houses both business and entertainment establishments. The Mall Center which will open later this month, will also be home to other luxury retail brands including a Saks Fifth Avenue store.
But what this opening really points to is a spurt in Kazakhstan’s tremendous economic growth and a reputation as a potential tourism hub. The Louis Vuitton store will stand alongside its equally famous cousins in the retail industry; Jimmy Choo, Giorgio Armani, Dolce and Gabbana and Ralph Lauren, among many others.
Emphasising the brand’s pioneering spirit, Yves Carcell, President of Louis Vuitton says that new store is especially important since the company has always believed in reinforcing its presence in new international locales. The store will offer a range of products with the famed monogram- accessories, jewellery, shoes for men and women, luggage and ready-to-wear.
As the 100,000 square ft Mall throws open its doors to the public, the country will not only be inviting the existing local and potential tourist population in, but will also be a welcome sign that points towards the steadily advancing horizon of economic prosperity.
